State Relations

The Office of State Relations facilitates positive relationships with state government, educates the campus community about state issues and further facilitates Binghamton University’s outreach effort regionally and state wide.

The Director of State Relations represents the interests of Binghamton University by serving as the University’s lead advocate to the Governors Office, the New York State Legislature, state agencies and with county and municipal governments.

State Relations personnel meet with University administration, alumni, faculty, staff, and students to develop a comprehensive advocacy strategy. The office further serves to channel pertinent information to the University concerning legislation, budgets and opportunities for advancement.

Terrence Kane has represented Binghamton University for two years as the Associate Director of Economic Development and Community Outreach, he served for 6 years as the Broome County Deputy County Executive and for 3 years as the Deputy Regional Director of Economic Development for the State of New York in the Southern Tier Region.
