State Relations
The Office of State Relations facilitates positive relationships with state government, educates the campus community about state issues and further facilitates Binghamton University’s outreach effort regionally and statewide. The director of state relations represents the interests of Binghamton University by serving as the University’s lead advocate to the Governor’s Office, the New York State Legislature, state agencies and with county and municipal governments. State Relations personnel meet with University administration, alumni, faculty, staff and students to develop a comprehensive advocacy strategy. The office also channels pertinent information to the University concerning legislation, budgets and opportunities for advancement.
