Economic Development and Outreach Programs

The Office of Economic Development and Community Outreach links the intellectual and physical assets of the university with local, regional and state governments, economic development organizations, non-profit organizations and private sector companies.

The Office of Economic Development conducts its activities through partnerships with regional planning organizations, local and regional economic development advocacy groups, local governments, businesses, and community leaders to maximize its effectiveness.

The University's goal is to make information available to economic development professionals and local government representatives regarding economic development activities and issues engaged in by the university facilitating an enhanced information exchange between the university and the community. The Office of Economic Development will provide information, technical assistance, and problem solving services to facilitate the implementation of economic development plans and programs in the region.

The Office of Economic Development and Community Outreach will implement a working relationship with the community and private sector to enhance BU's role in economic development, identifying economic development opportunities based on BU's research, working with companies to determine potential collaborations, attracting funding for economic development initiatives and improving the overall economy of the region.
