The Office of Research Advancement is committed to
facilitating the growth of BU research and scholarship
and helping to build awareness of the important work
being done here. The discovery of new knowledge, the
invention of new technologies, and the development of
vital applications and collaborations are core goals
shared by administrators, faculty, staff, and students
at Binghamton University.
The Office of Research Advancement embraces the mission
of supporting those broader institutional goals and
values by helping to:

define and enhance the University’s research
reputation through the creation and appropriate
dissemination of research news and information;

garner increased local, state and national media
attention to research at the University through
strategic multi-media communication and marketing,
and aggressive Web development;

grow sponsored program activity, graduate enrollment,
and institutional reputation by providing a “one-stop
shop” dedicated to the targeted use of available
creative and technological resources to advance
the development and success of faculty research

enhance faculty success with sponsored research
proposals and projects through the provision of
pertinent information and graphics in print and
electronic formats

provide critical editorial and information technology
supports to enhance the quality and success of faculty
research and institutional operations.
