Kartik Gopalan is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the State University of New York, Binghamton and the Director of the Operating Systems and Networks Lab (OSNET). He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from State University of New York at Stony Brook (2003), M.S. in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology at Chennai (1996), and B.E. in Computer Engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology (1994). His current research interests span all aspects of experimental computer systems including Virtualization, Distributed Systems, Wireless/Wired Networks, Cloud Computing, and Real-Time Systems. Some of his current research activities include virtualization of cluster resources; testbed for wireless protocol development, emulation, and modeling; multiple resource allocation and scheduling in real-time systems; and new approaches to control unwanted internet traffic.
