When the Department of Bioengineering moved into the Innovative Technologies Complex (ITC) last January, it was a milestone of sorts - one that Binghamton University hopes is the first of many. The department became the first tenant in the first building of the complex. Currently one 92,000 square-foot building, known as the Alpha building, on a 21-acre parcel of land, the ITC is destined to expand.
$120,000 grant to fund hypertension research

Gary James, director of the Institute for Primary and Preventative Health Care and professor in the Decker School of Nursing, has been awarded a two-year, $120,000 research grant by the New York State Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program (ECRIP) to develop a better means of diagnosing hypertension, the leading cause of heart disease, kidney failure and stroke.
