Binghamton University joined a team from the Binghamton Chamber at the fifth annual New York Day in Washington, May 11-12, 2005. Sponsored by the Chamber Alliance of New York State, New York Day is an opportunity for Chambers, business leaders and economic interests from across New York to develop working relationships with legislators, and advance public policies that will promote economic growth for New York State.

The Binghamton delegation met with Congressman Maurice Hinchey, Congressman Sherwood Boehlert, Senator Charles Schumer, and staff from Senator Hillary Clinton's office to highlight the strong collaboration between Binghamton University and the community and to discuss economic development efforts underway in the Southern Tier.
