A prominent organizational scientist, Yammarino is noted for his contributions to research methodology, transformational leadership studies and multiple levels of analysis.

Yammarino, who joined the faculty in 1985, has been recognized for his studies in leadership and his methodological contributions in the area of Within and Between Analysis (WABA). His work on the variant approach to behavioral science research has been considered path-breaking, and his research on the levels of leadership created a new model that brings together contributions from psychology, management and statistics.

A prodigious scholar, Yammarino has published more than 100 articles - with more than 60 in refereed journals - and 15 book chapters, and is co-author or editor of seven books. His work appears regularly in the proceedings of top organizational conferences. He has served as editor of Leadership Quarterly, social science's premier journal, and on the editorial boards of the other top six journals in the field.
