Abstract: Invasive species are very problematic to many living native species in New York. The project title is Invasive Species Mapping at Adams Farm property. The mapping of invasive species project will include an introduction, methods, results, discussions, and maps. This project will occur at the Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne, NY. The main scope of this project is to carry out an invasive species survey and map of Adams Farm (a property owned by Rogers). A survey will take place to map present invasive species properly, the area the Eurasian Shrub Honeysuckle, Common Buckthorn, garlic mustard, and multiflora rose are utilizing, and the present invasive species such as Eurasian Shrub Honeysuckle, Common Buckthorn, garlic mustard, and multiflora rose being mapped. The maps will be created using ArcMap to show the different species and the polygon shapes representing the area: the honeysuckle, buckthorn, garlic mustard, and multiflora rose. The maps constructed will be used in future weeks to lead volunteer groups on mechanical invasive species removal. This project will provide immense information for the future management of Eurasian Shrub Honeysuckle, Common Buckthorn, Garlic Mustard, and multiflora rose. This data will also provide the Rogers Center with a map of the present invasive species because they do not have any data on the species at Adams Farm. Finally, the data can help future interns at the invasive Rogers Center build off and continue to map and manage Eurasian Shrub Honeysuckle, Common Buckthorn, Garlic Mustard, and multiflora rose.
