Abstract: Both vorinostat and puromycin have proven independently effective at inducing cancer cell death (Yesharim et al., 2023; Freire et al., 2021). Based on computational modeling of their effects on oncogenes, it was suggested that they may be synergistically effective in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (“Cancer…”, 2012). This study aimed to test their effects when used in combination with NSCLC cell viability and migration measured via MTT and scratch assays respectively on A549 cells. It was found that synergistically the drugs were not more effective at lowering cell viability than mono therapeutically; furthermore, synergistic use produced greater cell migration.
