Abstract: Vulnerable populations across the United States of America are more prone to food inaccessibility due to the lack of transportation. Unreliable transportation was concluded to be the primary factor in a study conducted by Seeds of Change that limits food access within Broome County. This Library Research Scholar project, in collaboration with the Binghamton 2Degrees Food Security group, will apply elements of information literacy, service learning, and evidence-based research to address this issue in Broome County. A systematic translational review was conducted to bridge academic findings and practical implementation. This review process involved defining the research question, establishing systematic search parameters, collecting and screening search results (title/abstract and full screening), and synthesizing the final data. The final synopsis will answer the question: "What are American communities doing to address transportation issues related to food insecurity and to improve access for vulnerable, rural or elderly populations?"
