Village of Owego Flood Risk Simulation

Abstract: This project seeks to create a GIS simulation of potential flood risk within the boundaries of the Village of Owego. To achieve these ends, various factors such as tree canopy and cover, topography, precipitation and soil type into a GIS model utilizing kernels of land data to determine which areas at are the greatest flood risk potential. The findings will accompany a list of state and federal grants to help the Village achieve steps towards flood mitigation and prevention in the future.
